Leadership development
Make the decision to elevate your leadership within your institution’s IT. Gain an understanding of why and how universities function. Explore the provincial and federal resources that surround universities. Examine how university IT functions with current CIOs. Learn the nuance of strategic planning for IT within universities. Boost your skills in vendor relations, risk management, and change management.
The maximum intake is 20 participants who are selected on a variety of criteria (listed below). The course is run annually from July - June meeting approximately every 2 weeks.
This course’s lead facilitator is Bob Cook. He is a former CIO at the University of Toronto and has been facilitating the leadership program since its inception in 2018.

New applicant intake happens annually in April and closes in May.

Sponsored by the CIO or equivalent from their current institution.
Must represent a good fit for the breadth of diversity in the program.

The course cost is $3,000 per participant.
Additional costs:
Travel, per diem, hotel etc. for twice annual in-person meetings is not included but is expected of each participant.
Participation and preparation for the sessions are not without costs.
Information Security Leadership Development
The IT security leadership development program is delivered in three phases: Leadership in the academy; building a campus culture around IT security; and IT security in the higher education landscape. Each phase of the program is delivered as a mix of self-study materials, online discussions, and in-person intensives. The program is delivered by current and former chief information officers, chief information security officers. Program facilitator BobCook is the former CIO of the University of Toronto and is also currently the facilitator of the leadership development program - also from CUCCIO.

Candidates must:
Be on a cyber security leadership trajectory.
Be employed with a current CUCCIO member.
Have the blessing of the CIO (or equivalent) to participate in the program.
A maximum of 20 participants are allowed in the program and are selected for appropriate mix at CUCCIO’s discretion.

The program costs $3,500 in enrolment. This does not include costs related to the in-person sessions in November and June.
